Diode is an electronic component that allows the current to flow in only one direction. It is a two-terminal semiconductor device. The rectifier is a device that is used to convert an AC voltage to a DC voltage. A diode is used as a switch, and a rectifier is used to the conversion.

Transistors are used for low-frequency, high-power applications and transform a small input current into a larger output current.
